U12 to U15

With the talented be very careful how you coach and nurture these young players. Physically and mentally their bodies are going through tremendous change. Stability in their life style is important, as are relationships with the important people in their lives, parents/teachers/coaches and friends all can influence the development of a young player. From a purely coaching point of view a talented player now needs a highly competent coach to work with on a weekly basis. He increases the skill levels, set targets, goals and works now on mental toughness. Often someone outside of the family is an ideal coach/mentor to that young player. Sadly only very few exist and that's way few young talented players reach their true potential. Only through careful planning and complete commitment from their family and coach will they get the change to realise their potential. This is the most difficult age group for any coach to coach. He needs particular skills to understand the mind of a youngster of this age. They also need to be a skilled cricketer and communicator who can pass on his own knowledge and experience to those in their charge.
