George F won the toss and elected to bowl. David started the pressure with an opening maiden. Then George F made the break though with his first ball (hitting middle & off). Tight bowling supported by excellent ground fielding and good wicket keeping from Jacob restricted the home team’s scoring. The straight bowling hit the stumps again, this time from David’s bowling, in his second over. David’s third over saw a hat-trick ball, as he had cleaned bowled two more batsmen. George finished his spell with another wicket, again clean bowled. Alex and Elliott took the bowling reins and bowled an excellent line, with Elliott clean bowling another batsman. Elliott was in the action again, this time running out the opener, with a direct hit from short fine leg, off the bowling of Aiden. George S then bowled a tight over, and on came Sam N. He got an LBW with his first ball, followed by a dot ball, and then bowled the final batsman with his third delivery. The scorecard showing 7 clean bowled with one LBW and a clean hit for a run out indicates extremely disciplined bowling, back-up by some excellent ground fielding and some great attempts at diving catches (David and George).David and Ollie opened the batting and had a look for a couple of overs, before accelerating and rotating the strike, with some clean hitting and good running. In took them just 8.35 overs to score the required runs. They then went and had a sit-down, and the home side stayed in the field for 7 more overs, to give some of our other boys a knock. George F had a go and holed out at cover. Sam G played well and hit a wonderful boundary to finish 10 NO and Francis looked stylish scoring 5 runs, before leaving Alex to face the final ball. Tim gave him a challenge of 2 to win, which he achieved with a super shot through midwicket.A great win – and a super team performance. A win achieved with execution of skills and a smile on the face!!!! A special thanks to Billy Wright who volunteered to field for the opposition. Well done Billy. Thanks to Karina for providing a well presented scorebook. 4 This website was created using MAGIX Website Maker You will need the current version of Adobe Flash Player to view it.
