Fantasy Cricket 2024 - Sponsored by Firecrest Cricket: The Final Standings...

Chris Morrison27 Sep 2024 - 09:00

The results are in for this year's Fantasy Cricket which was hotly contested by a strong top four!

With another season come to an end, the results for Fantasy Cricket 2024 are in! Thanks to all who played, helping to raise valuable funds for the club, and to Toby and Tim Mullins from our club kit provider, Firecrest Cricket, who have sponsored the prize for the third year running. If anyone is thinking of refreshing their kit at season's end, check out their website - https://firecrestcricket.com/. All purchases made quoting affiliation to Barrow Cricket Club counts towards the club cashback scheme.

The league table developed interestingly over the course of the season, with a number of surprises. The biggest one being Midweek Mastermind, Mikey Holliday, who was the club's leading run scorer this season, not picking himself in his team for a single game week! When you're missing a whopping average of 80.67 runs per innings from your team, it's always hard to lift yourself from the foot of the table! On the flipside, newcomers, Sam Richardson and Zac Aldridge sussed out their new teammates quickly with top 6 finishes. Past winners Subhash Vaddella and Prashant Pandey were also there-or-there-abouts at the run in, with strong performances in the competition!

As for MVPs, with the bat Mikey Holliday led the way with a stellar total of 994 points, a massive 450 points ahead of the next best performer, Captain Jack Randle. From the bowlers, Max Stuchbury was the top points scorer (823), following huge progression with the bat this season, leading him to be named Player of the Year in the Chester and District Midweek Cricket Competition! Phil Johnson also had an impressive season for the 1sts, scoring a round 700 points in Fantasy Cricket this year. From the all-rounders, overseas player, Zac Aldridge was the star performer, scoring 1487 points with performances with bat, ball and in the field. I'm sure everyone will echo my thoughts when I say we have loved having Zac as part of the Barrow family and wish him all the best for the future! Of the wicket-keepers, the evergreen Lee Dwyer was the top performer, with 704 points.

So, who was this year's mastermind manager?! The top 4 are as follows:

4th - Prashant Pandey - SandyPaperz - 4921 points
3rd - Subhash Vaddella - Get some runs - 4962 points
2nd - Zac Aldridge - Zacazaca - 5242 points
1st - Alex Hawksby - The Umpire Strikes Back - 5620 points

Well done Alex! Please contact Toby Mullins from Firecrest Cricket to claim your prize!
