I'd like to say a huge personal thank you to everyone who has contributed so far!!! This is the biggest and most important project the cricket club has ever undertaken and the breath of support has been amazing.

Unfortunately we are still some way short of the overall target and we really need new nets ahead of next season so to allow us to get started as soon as possible and due to challenges around space we are going to initially build replace our 2 existing nets with 2 new ones. This will then give us the option to add a 3rd lane in the future as and when we have raised the difference.

The cost of 2 nets is a little under £49,000, so we aren't quite there yet. However we have been offered an interest free loan from the ECB as a back stop to allow us to get started which we will use if needed.

However we still have our main fundraising event on 4th September which is an evening with Test Match Special Legend Jonathan Agnew. If we can get a great turn out it will allow us to get close to or reach the target which will put us in a brilliant position so i'm asking all members to buy tickets or organise a table if you can.

The evening includes a 2 course meal and welcome drink and should be a great evening.
