The cricket season is now in full swing and it's been a great start for all teams across the club.
In the junior ranks the u9s, u11s and u15s all boast 100% records after the first few rounds of games, whilst our young u13s team are showing great improvement and growing stronger every week.
There have been many individual highlights across our junior teams but the standout to date must go to Yusuf Razaq for the extraordinary bowling figures of 5-3 including 4 wickets in 4 balls in the u15s! He's also undefeated with the bat having reached retirement in both innings to date. Keep at the good work Yusuf
The women's season is yet to kick into full gear but improvement across the team has been huge and under the expert coaching of overseas player Logan Malthus a successful season is anticipated.
In the senior ranks the midweek team got their campaign off to a winning start last week whist the 3rd team have won 2 of their first 4 games whilst providing vital experience for our up and coming junior players.
Meanwhile the 2nd and 1st teams have both recorded 3 wins from their first 4 games to sit near the top of their respective divisions.
The1st team rounded off possibly the most successful weekend in the club's history yesterday with a nail biting 2 wicket win over Irby in the 2nd round of the national village knock out making it 4 senior wins from 4 over the weekend and 7 out of 8 across the whole club for the week, a monumental effort!
A big shout out to both 1st and 2nd team captains Jack and Lee who have been in superb form with the bat leading from the front and setting a fantastic example for their respective teams. However the senior performance of the season to date must go to Harry Arden who completed his maiden century for the 3rd team away at Barnton. Harry batted brilliantly hitting the ball to all parts of the ground in a virtually chanceless 112 against a very strong Barnton 2nd XI.
Well done Harry and keep up the good form!
